Job summary
Join us at Worcester Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Worcester Royal Hospital is a PFI hospital and opened in 2002. It is the largest of the 3 sites providing specialist services for the whole of Worcestershire including stroke services, cardiac stenting and oncology. The Alex Hospital at Redditch opened in 1985 and supports elective surgery especially in orthopaedics. This is an exciting time to join the team as services expand and we look to develop our teams in CT, Cardiac and Intervention.
We offer a comprehensive range of services in all areas of general radiography including NM, CT, MRI, Intervention, cardiac angiography and dexa. Our CT scanners across the county have all been replaced within the last couple of years with current state of the art technology.
We are a forward-looking department committed to training and role development. We have advanced practice fluoroscopy radiographers and a large team of reporting radiographers led by a Consultant radiographer.
We are looking for enthusiastic radiographers with a flexible approach to delivering radiography services. Applications from students qualifying this summer would be welcomed.
Applicants should be motivated and able to demonstrate that you have the necessary drive and purpose required to succeed whilst maintaining your own professional standing.
You will be required to work flexibly; we have a fully shifted 7-day rota with out of hours. Currently vacancy is at Worcester.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Radiographer at WHAT there is an expectation that you will use your experience and knowledge to support both staff and service users where appropriate. This also includes any modality Leads and site leads.
As such you will be expected to
Maintain Clinical skills
Support the department in delivering continuous high quality care.
Be able to take day-to-day responsibility when necessary for the area in which they are working.
The post holder will provide supervision, support and education to qualified and unqualified staff.
Support the effective leadership of required services which will include organising workload, staffing and stock control.
Ensure operational standards are met to maintain effective service delivery.
Demonstrate effective communication with all staff including site modality leads.
Support in the ongoing development of clinical practice and standards of care.
Contribute towards service development and undertake clinical audit activity within specialist services as required.
To ensure that patients are professionally cared for during the examination and their time in the department
