Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work within the Audiology Department at Worcester Royal Hospital & Alexandra Hospital Redditch. The role will be shared over both sites. This is a full time positional of 37.5 hours 4 -5 days a week depending on clinical need. However would consider applicants who can offer at least 32 hours a week.
We are seeking a confident individual with a professional front of house manner and the ability to organise workload.
The successful candidate will support the Audiologists by performing hearing aid repairs, stock control and answering patient's enquiries.
Accurate recording of patient details and appointments is also required. Occasional travel around the county to other departments such as Kidderminster Hospital may also be required.
The success candidate will be prepared to undertake additional training required to acquire the Audiology Assistant Basic Certificate course. Tis would require travel to Trafford Hospital Manchester. Three days a month for five months hence flexibility to attend this course is essential.

Main duties of the job
Job PurposeTo assist the audiologist in the performance of their dutiesTo perform range of routine tasks, including patient preparation and routine equipment maintenance.To undertake servicing and programming of replacement hearing aids and contribute to the patients rehabilitation programme.To undertake administrative and clerical duties involved in the day-to-day running of the department.To participate in maintaining a safe working environment
Key Duties:
Servicing and maintenance of hearing aids
Assisting the qualified audiologist in patient preparation and clinical procedures.
Advice on hearing aid care to patients and care workers.
To assist audiologists in outpatient clinics at various hospitals, health centres and GP practices within the County
Administration
To undertake administrative and clerical duties involved in the day-to-day running of the Audiology and Hearing Aid Services Department.
Responsible for dispatching adults/paediatrics moulds and hearing aids for repair, together with the relevant documentation and the subsequent booking in procedure using the computerised audiology patient management system.
Maintenance of patients records and assisting in the collection of statistical information.
