Job summary

You will be a highly motivated forward-thinking professional who can demonstrate the ability to lead and support staff in a proactive and effective way. You will be expected to lead by example, providing evidence based care to the patients within the ward. As the regional MI centre for Worcestershire and Herefordshire, the Cardiology unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital provides angiography and angioplasty as well as a 24/7 PPCI service. In addition to this temporary and permanent pacing and a complex device service is also based on site.

Main duties of the job

To actively promote the development of evidence based practice.

To maintain a high profile within the specialty having direct clinical

involvement.

To develop and encourage innovation in nursing practice within the

specialty.

To identify "best practice" from available literature and disseminate throughout the Unit.

Highlight areas for change as a result of research or audit and in conjunction with Ward Manager/Sister act as a change agent.

To assist in the implementation of mentorship, preceptorship and clinical supervision.

Carry out all nursing procedures according to Worcestershire Acute

Hospitals NHS Trust.

  • Ability to manage own workload and delegate appropriately.

Desirable

  • ITU/HDU experience. Acute General Medicine. Experience within cardiac catheterisation.

  • Evidence of management experience/ training.
  • Team Leadership.
  • Cardiac Practice/ Critical Care pathway or equivalent
  • Mentorship for assessment or equivalent
