Medical Short Stay Unit Alexandra Hospital (MSSU)

Band 6 Sister/ Charge Nurse -A exciting opportunity has arisen to join our MSSU team. We pride ourselves in providing a progressive, supportive environment with a dynamic and motivated team. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual, who is looking for a challenge, if you are confident, well organised with excellent communication skills and see yourself as a visible Nurse leader who has high standards, excellent clinical skills and knowledge then we would like to hear from you.

The Medical short stay unit is a 28 bedded unit at the Alexandra hospital in Redditch. This is a busy and dynamic working environment; we aim to discharge patients home within a 72-hour window. It is fast paced and we have an excellent discharge rate, by working closely with the multi-disciplinary team. Our mission is to work together with our partners in health and social care to provide safe, effective, personalized and integrated care for local people, delivered consistently across all services by skilled and compassionate staff.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must be able to co-ordinate and prioritize care in a busy environment. The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team, doctors and nurses. You will be supported in this post by the Ward Manager, the MSSU team and Matron for Urgent Care.
