Job summary
This is a new post. This person will be support the delivery and maintenance of an Outpatient clinical tool that oversees the physical utilisation of space (known as OCTOPUS). This is an internally built tool aimed at facilitating productivity specifically in the Outpatient services.
This post holder will be joining a busy Information and Intelligence team. Worcestershire Acute is part of a Foundation Group which includes three other Trusts. This post holder will not only focus on Outpatients but can have access to varied datasets and opportunities as part of the Group.
The team provides critical services to our clinical, operational and corporate colleagues; we have a wide remit, develop highly skilled staff that are provide business intelligence that drives strategic decision making in the organisation.
The post holder will need to have a good standard of analytical understanding and a keen interest in learning new technical languages and techniques. The post holder will always be expected to put patients at the heart of all tasks and ensure that support the organisation to provide the best care possible for our patients.
Main duties of the job
- Be able to analyse data using a wide range of database tools and analysis techniques. Create complex queries and reports in SQL (database analysis language), SQL reporting services (SSRS) (and preferably R).
- Capable of developing specialist knowledge and expertise within the NHS information and intelligence service. Become fully conversant with datasets generated within the NHS.
- To represent the Digital Information Department on divisional and Trust wide projects where data driven evidence will be required to support the direction for the project and help monitor the outcomes/impacts.
- To be responsible for the production, development and promotion of statistical information services, provide expert advice and guidance on information matters including the development of health related datasets.
- To have responsibility for information systems/service across the Trust and the development of systems at departmental level.
