Job summary
This
is a new and exciting opportunity to join the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals
NHS Trust (WAHT) Cardiopulmonary team toimplement and deliver inventory
management solutions alongside providing additional administrative support for
the departments clinical teams. This new position has the potential to unlock savings, improve patient care, and create
greater supply chain resilience throughactive
engagement in inventory management, financial reporting and advanced clerical
roles within both Cardiology and Respiratory physiology services. The post
holder will be trusted to provide consistently outstanding performance and
exemplary service as part of the WAHT's ongoing commitment to the
Cardiopulmonary services of the regions patient's.
Main duties of the job
Implement and manage inventory
at department level, acting as a primary point of contact and attending ward
department meetings when required
To provide expert advice on
usage trends, stock levels, product range and stock management procedures to
clinical/department managers with close working relationships to the
procurement team across the Trust
To review and resolve all
discrepancies concerning stock by liaising with clinicians, customers and
external suppliers as appropriate. To advise on appropriate action for uplifts
and return policies and to implement as necessary
Analysis of virtual and face
to face clinic slots/physiologist time to maximize availability
Calling patients prior to
appointments to ensure reduced DNA % and increased clinic availability
Contacting patients whose
remote monitors are disconnected with explanation and advice on how to connect
to the transmitter
To be responsible for the
successful management of the relationship between clinical and non-clinical
staff within departments through regular meetings and contact with managers to
identify and resolve stock issues
Communicate regularly with
department staff specific to both Cardiology and Respiratory consumables and
stock levels
Maintain strong links with
industry and companies associated with Cardiopulmonary stock

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be
responsible for the inventory management of regularly used consumables within
Cardiopulmonary clinical areas ensuring Cardiology and Respiratory stock levels
are managed and maintained in an efficient and cost effective manner in line
with agreed procedures and processes via department policy. To provide admin
support to the Physiologist Cardiac Rhythm Monitoring/Pacemaker service by
contacting patients to optimize clinic lists via: booking appointments,
answering appointment queries and capturing information about patients lost to
follow up and DNA analysis. Making phone calls to remote monitoring pacemaker
patients to ensure regular device downloads are made and re-connect signal
where device monitoring has been lost. Take responsibility for the security of
goods from the point of receipt and ensure stock is replenished in a timely
manner and in its correct storage area. Maintain regular contact with Finance
for monthly stock updates and annual external Auditors. Work unsupervised,
using own initiative in clinical areas adhering to published and inferred
standards, policies and procedures. The post holder will prioritise
their own workload
under supervision of registered and/or responsible staff and understand the boundaries of their practice
