Job summary
We are excited to seek applicants
for a two year fixed term appointment as a Specialist in Oral Surgery for
training in extended competencies. The post holder will join a growing Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery team and be supported to acquire the necessary skills,
knowledge and competencies to supplement those gained during Specialist
Training. The successful applicant will be supported to complete the ISFE
examination and in progression to the position of Consultant in Oral Surgery.
Applicants must have successfully completed a recognised oral surgery training
program and have a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST), or
equivalent, in Oral Surgery and are required to be on the Specialist Register.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to establish
a new position of Specialist Oral Surgeon for training to support the extended
competencies for post CCST professional development. The post in run in
partnership with Birmingham Dental Hospital and will support preparation for
the ISFE examination.
The role will include
delivery of clinical activities with the OMFS team along with independent oral
surgery working. The post holder will gain experience in multidisciplinary
clinics, adult and paediatric operating and with leadership and governance activities.
Additional exposure to IV sedation clinics is available if required.
