Applications are invited for
a 12 month Clinical Fellow post in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Under the guidance of the Consultants,
the post holder will be responsible for the clinical care of Obstetric and
Gynaecology patients. The post holder will
work with all the Consultants in the Directorate.
There
will be opportunity to assist Out-patient clinics (Antenatal and Gynaecology) and perform both elective and emergency
surgery under direct and indirect supervision.
The successful applicant will be expected to participate
in the middle grade (MG) on call rota as part of the resident rota 1:8.
This
is an exciting time to join our unit. Previous reconfiguration of services has
brought all acute Obstetrics and Gynaecology services to the Worcestershire
Royal Hospital (WRH) Site in Worcester. The annual number of births is c.5000
and CQC have recently rated our Maternity services as Good.
In
addition to BSUG accreditation the Unit is also accredited as a BSGE
Endometriosis Centre and we have recently started to offer robotic surgery for
complex endometriotic disease and high BMI cancer surgery.
The successful applicant
should have good clinical skills in general Obstetrics & Gynaecology and
should be post CCT qualified.

many obstetric and gyneacology subspecialties.
Duties will
be arranged with the consultants to whom you are responsible, and you must
discuss and understand these duties as soon as possible as you take up your
appointment. The consultant has final responsibility for all patients under
his/her care and therefore any clinical problems causing anxiety should be
referred to the Consultant, as the senior member of the team, or in his/her
absence, the Consultant covering his/her duties.
