Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced midwives to join our established Midwifery team based within the award winning Meadow Birth Centre at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Meadow is a four bedded Midwife led birth centre with 3 fixed birthing pools, providing a home from home environment with the security of a co-located Obstetric unit.
We are looking for kind, compassionate and innovative Midwives to join our team who are committed to providing high quality, safe, women centred care. You will engage with women and families to encourage and promote physiological birth, women centred care and advocate for women and their families in their choices.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to provide safe and effective care to women/pregnant people during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum period.
You will have a philosophy that is client centred, promotes choice and actively uses approaches to put women and birthing people at the centre of care.
You will work within a small team including Maternity Support Workers to provide appropriate care , and in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team as required.
As a teaching hospital, you will be expected to act as supervisor/assessor to student Midwives or Paramedics.
You will be based within the birth centre, but can be asked to rotate between all clinical areas to cover service needs, and to work on a rotation basis to include day and night shifts and weekends.
You will have successfully completed a preceptorship programme and achieved midwifery competencies such as cannulation, IV drug administration and suturing.
