Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic midwife to join our Midwifery team as the lead midwife for the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle, for 12 months (fixed term contract).

The post holder will work with midwifery, obstetric, and neonatal colleagues to lead on the continued implementation and monitoring of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle across the Trust. The postholder is expected to have excellent communication skills and be able to manage their own workload.

Main duties of the job

To build on the current practice and lead and facilitate improvements and innovations to enable the full delivery of the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle version 3 at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust which includes:

  • Reducing smoking in pregnancy
  • Fetal growth
  • Raising awareness of reduce fetal movements (RFM)
  • Effective fetal monitoring
  • Reducing preterm birth
  • Management of pre-existing diabetes

In addition, you will be expected to undertake and support QI work and audits that evidence compliance, and be jointly responsible for completion of the SBL implementation toolkit.

  • Educate to Degree level or equivalent
  • Mentorship qualification evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

  • Experience of reporting and presenting complex data analysis in a variety of reports and media, including oral presentations
  • Evidence of professional development
  • Knowledge of research methodologies and audit
  • Experienced user of MS Office programmes, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Desirable

  • Clinical Audit Experience
  • Evidence of effective team working
  • Experience of leading , motivating & supporting a team
