An exciting
opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Nursing Associate
to come and work on Avon 4.
Avon 4 is a busy acute medical ward that specializes in frailty care.
Avon 4 is a 21
bedded ward including 2 dedicated 4 bedded high visible areas for patients who
need enhanced observation
The successful
candidate will be highly motivated, dynamic and resilient striving for
excellence in patient care and support colleagues in practice.

Main duties of the job
Nursing Associates support the provision of holistic, person-centred care and support for patients on the ward.The nursing associate works independently to assess, plan, implement and evaluate; undertaking aspects of care delegated by registered nurses and registered health professionals.
Nursing Associates will promote the health and wellbeing of patients/service users across all health and care settings making every contact count. Integral to all of this is the ability to communicate effectively adopting the Trusts 4WARD values with sensitivity and compassion, and to manage relationships with people.

Work with the
wider nursing and health care team to:-
- Participate
in the delivery of patient care
- Contribute towards ward/department organisation
- Give support to registered nurses in the provision of
a safe and caring environment.
- Assist
in the induction, supervision and training of Healthcare Support Workers and
student nurses and nursing associates.
- Demonstrate a
level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks
delegated by the nurse in charge and in
accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. The post holder
will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have
been trained and assessed as competent.
It is expected
that Nursing Associates will be able to carry out all of the core competencies
outlined in the job description but their duties and competencies will vary
according to speciality agreed extended competencies. Similar or related duties
may be undertaken in support of the environment, which are not listed.

- Professional Registration - NMC Nursing Associate.
- Completion of Foundation Degree Nursing Associate qualification.
- Demonstrates a commitment to further learning and personal development.
- Evidence of full time education achievements
- GCSE English (grade A-C) or equivalent
- GCSE Maths (grade A-C) or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and/or BTEC/ HND in health and social care.
Experience
Essential
- Experience within an acute hospital setting
- Experience of prioritising workload and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to communicate sensitive information to Patients/carers in an empathetic and understandable manner.
- Intermediate keyboard skills.
- Organisational skills.
