An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 4 Nursing Associate to come and work on Avon 4. Avon 4 is a busy acute medical ward that specializes in frailty care.

Avon 4 is a 21 bedded ward including 2 dedicated 4 bedded high visible areas for patients who need enhanced observation

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, dynamic and resilient striving for excellence in patient care and support colleagues in practice.

Main duties of the job

Nursing Associates support the provision of holistic, person-centred care and support for patients on the ward.The nursing associate works independently to assess, plan, implement and evaluate; undertaking aspects of care delegated by registered nurses and registered health professionals.

Nursing Associates will promote the health and wellbeing of patients/service users across all health and care settings making every contact count. Integral to all of this is the ability to communicate effectively adopting the Trusts 4WARD values with sensitivity and compassion, and to manage relationships with people.

  • Completion of Foundation Degree Nursing Associate qualification.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to further learning and personal development.
  • Evidence of full time education achievements
  • GCSE English (grade A-C) or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths (grade A-C) or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and/or BTEC/ HND in health and social care.

Experience

  • Experience within an acute hospital setting
  • Experience of prioritising workload and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to communicate sensitive information to Patients/carers in an empathetic and understandable manner.
