Job summary
We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, experienced midwife aspiring to help lead our digital maternity agenda and keen to support the use of digital technology to improve service delivery, women's experience and quality and safety.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team for 12 months who has knowledge of maternity digital systems to support the ongoing digital platform within our maternity services and lead on service changes. The successful post holder will work with our other Digital Midwife in post, to lead on and support the digital agenda with an energetic and motivated team of senior leaders, midwives, and obstetricians.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support digital innovations acting as a leader and a representative of the Midwifery profession, and will ensure clinical practice, supported by digital technology, meets professional and National standards.
- Ensure the maternity IT system functionality adheres to / supports practitioner's professional standards e.g. the NMC Code
- Practice in accordance with the NMC Code
- Be able to support teams to use the digital data available to complete audits and projects and highlight where improvements and changes can be made to improve patient safety and experience. eg Saving Babies Lives, ATAIN, NMPA etc
- Maintain competencies relating to digital leadership by attending regular updates such as local user group initiatives and the national Digital Midwives Expert Reference Group
- Continue to work towards and support the current initiatives underway such as roll out of Single Point of Access, continued and improved use of the Single Pregnancy Record, GROW 2.0 and other developments supporting the national agenda, and included in regular Badgernet updates.
