We are now seeking an outstanding Senior Research Manager to lead, innovate and elevate our research delivery across the Trust.
Main duties of the job
As Senior Research Manager, you will:
? Provide strategic and operational leadership for all research activity across EPUT? Oversee our Research Delivery Team and manage research governance systems? Build and sustain a strong pipeline of NIHR and commercial studies? Strengthen collaborations with universities, industry partners and NIHR networks? Lead the design and submission of high-value funding bids? Act as budget holder for all research income streams? Ensure rapid, safe and effective study setup, delivery and close-out? Champion a research-active culture across clinical teams and services
You'll bring highly specialised research expertise, exceptional communication and influencing skills, and a passion for enabling clinicians and patients to engage with high-quality research.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operationalleadership and teammanagement

Conducting effective feasibility checks onnew studiesand ensuring thatappropriate assessmentand approvals are in place before commencement of research within EPUT, withappropriate involvementof other services (i.e. pharmacy, psychology, operational delivery).

Ensuring the Research & Innovation department and research within the Trustoperatesin line with national standards and Trust policies including data protection,healthand safety requirements,monitoringof misconduct and fraud and financial probity.

Supporting the health, safety,dignityand well-being of patients involved in research through monitoring of ongoing studies ensuring policy and procedural adherence including reporting requirementsin accordance withTrust Policy and Procedure.
Strategic development and delivery

Leadership contribution tothelong-termdelivery of the Trusts Research & Innovation strategies, including working with the Director of Strategy, Transformation and Research on refreshing these strategies at theappropriate timeto ensure they are implemented Trust wide.

- Postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., health research, management) or equivalent senior-level experience.
- Evidence of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
- Leadership or management qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced in-depth knowledge of UK clinical research governance, including HRA approval, Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations, and RSSF.
- Comprehensive understanding of NIHR portfolio and commercial research processes
- Advanced in-depth understanding of national research policy, funding streams, and strategic priorities
