Job summary
We are delighted to offer availability a role as a band 6 Podiatrist working within our Podiatry Team in South Essex. The service covers from the Basildon area in South Essex to the borders of Southend on Sea and Shoeburyness. The service provides a wholistic approach to patient care including Wound Care, Home Visits, Biomechanics, Nail Surgery and is part of the Multidisciplinary Foot Team in the Acute Trust co supported by the Podiatric Surgery Team Essex at Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
Your clinical work would be at a variety of clinics. A car driver is therefore essential for this role. Business mileage is remunerated and staff may apply for a lease / salary sacrifice car scheme.
All employees are required to undertake mandatory training, supervision and yearly appraisals including forming an individual development program. The service arranges regular educational speakers as part of its regular service meetings. Staff may apply for specific study leave and training courses.
This post would provide an ideal opportunity to develop your clinical skills and gain experience in the above specialist areas as part of a rotational program. A mentor will be provided to help support you through your developmental and preceptorship program as well as daily support from senior clinicians as part of a two chair clinic arrangement.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will undertake as part of the Podiatry team; new patient assessment clinics, routine clinics, ulcer clinics, domiciliary visits and nail surgery with opportunities to shadow specialist musculoskeletal podiatrists and specialist diabetes podiatrists in the multidisciplinary diabetic foot service.
You will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team and have excellent clinical and communication skills, these skills are essential as you will be providing a quality service to patients in a variety of clinical settings.
The post holder will be required to travel across all areas of South Essex.
