Job summary
EPUT's Learning Disabilities Psychological Service in South Essex has an opportunity for a highly motivated behaviour specialist passionate about transformation to join the team and develop the service. Implementing care provision for adults with learning disabilities considering assessment, intervention/therapeutic support.
Successful candidates will receive +5% HCAS allowance.
We are seeking a Band 7 Clinical Behaviour Specialist to join our team, providing expert input into complex clinical cases and contributing to the development of new pathways.
We also welcome applications from strong candidates who may not yet meet all aspects of the person specification. In such cases, a Band 6 role may be offered.
We seek professionals motivated to change lives by focusing on patient care that helps individuals flourish, focusing on their well-being and self-determination and aiming for their optimal development. This will applied via a strength-based approach to their learning disability practice.
Roles are available as part of a well-established, highly professional multidisciplinary team of psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists and nurses.
We offer multiple options for further professional development through wider collaborative working with the Essex Learning Disability Partnership, including the development of neuro-developmental disorders, dementia and challenging behaviour pathways, and work both in the community and inpatient settings.
Main duties of the job
1. Within the Learning Disability service to lead in delivering high-quality specialist behavioural assessment and treatment of people with a learning disability who have additional severe behaviour that challenges, and indirect working through consultation, teaching and training with staff, families and carers across South Essex.
2. Providing leadership input into the development of new pathways of care for behaviours that challenge.
3. Being responsible for holding and managing a behaviour therapy clinical caseload of clients referred to the Learning Disability Team and utilising planning and organisational skills, to exercise autonomous assessment, treatment and discharge of clients, within the parameters of the service operational policy and professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload.
4. To plan and supervise the work of the Behaviour Associate Practitioners/Assistant Psychologists and Behaviour Support Workers delegating and monitoring work with appropriate support and management.
5. To work in partnership with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams to provide a holistic service
