SPECIALIST MUSCULOSKELETAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST Band 6
The opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist MSK Physiotherapist within EPUT NHS Trust Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Team. The post is for 25 hours per week (0.67 WTE) for a fixed term contract until 28.1.27 to cover maternity leave.
Due to the nature of the vacancy we require applicants to have a minimum of 2 years NHS experience as a physiotherapist which includes MSK Physiotherapy. Ideally applicants would already have some Band 6 experience in MSK Physiotherapy.
The successful applicant will provide clinical assessment and treatment as part of the wider MSK team which includes Band 7, 6 and 5 clinicians, Physiotherapy Apprentices and Rehabilitation Instructors. The MSK Physiotherapy team works in conjunction with the Advanced Practice Team and First Contact Practitioners to provide MSK services to the local population.
The post holder will be able to continue to develop their clinical skills by working with Highly Specialist Physiotherapists, Advanced Practitioners, participating in regular supervision and in-service training programmes, as well as support with external courses.

Main duties of the job
Role Summary
To be a Specialist Physiotherapist responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment and evaluation of patients referred to the Musculoskeletal Service. This may include patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions
To work as an autonomous professional according to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy rules of Professional Conduct and Standards of Physiotherapy and the Health Professions Council's regulations.
To work as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) in the provision of a high standard of care to those patients referred to the musculoskeletal service, to ensure the continuation of therapy on transfer or discharge as necessary
Working without direct supervision, to hold responsibility for own caseload and the seamless transfer of physiotherapy care for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type. Supervision may take the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review or case presentations / discussions. Access to advice and support from a more Senior Physiotherapist is available if required, with clinical work not routinely evaluated by others.
To assist more senior physiotherapists, in the further development and the coordination of the provision of physiotherapy.
