Job summary
The post holder will provide effective assistance to the Property & PFI team, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of estates and facilities services across Trust-managed PFI sites.
The role involves working within live clinical environments, predominantly on mental health wards, where there is a high likelihood of direct patient and service-user interaction. Such interactions may at times be challenging or uncomfortable, requiring the post holder to maintain professionalism, empathy, and composure. Appropriate training and guidance will be provided to ensure safety and confidence in these situations.
Main duties of the job
o Escort and supervise contractors working in live clinical areas, ensuring compliance with infection control, confidentiality, security and safeguarding requirements.o Maintain awareness that patients and service users may engage with staff, including through inquisitive, distressed, or occasionally aggressive behaviour.o Respond calmly and appropriately, following Trust procedures and seeking support from ward staff when required.o Promote a respectful and reassuring presence, helping to minimise disruption to patient care during estates activities.o Liaise with Ward staff to ensure areas of work are agreed to safeguard patients and contractors working areas.o Ensure the contractors are following Ward requirements for working and that they are working in line with their Risk and Method Statements
