Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated administration assistant to work alongside an experienced Principal Counselling Psychologist in the Adult Community Psychological Service across South East Essex. The role is a rare opportunity to support and enable a psychologist with a visual impairment, which in turn offers the successful candidate diverse experience of working in a NHS psychological service team. This post provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic and dedicated service. The role is admin based and will include monitoring of emails, taking dictations for clinical reports and supporting the management of diaries. It will also involve direct patient contact in the form of scheduling appointments. Strong communication, efficient organisation and resilience are essential for the role.
The Adult Community Psychological service provides a specialist mental health service to the South East Essex locality. Services aim to enhance the capacity to deliver psychological therapies and to utilise psychological skills within MDTs. The established Clinical Director of Psychological Services works closely with the senior management team to develop and improve delivery of psychological therapies, and to enable psychologists to develop and implement their leadership skills.
Main duties of the job
The administration assistant will work alongside an identified counselling psychologist providing an Adult Community Psychological Service to the Recovery and Wellbeing Teams (RWT) and in other aspects of their leadership. The post will be based across Canvey Island, Rayleigh and Rochford. The RWT delivers care plans aligned to recovery focused outcomes to clients with complex needs. Psychologists provide direct client contact in the form of assessment and treatment, as well as providing consultation and supervision to other professionals.
