Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating the day to day delivery of aspects of the TB service in order to deliver high quality care to patients and ensure best use of resources andraising the profile of the TB specialist service as an specialist resource within Primary Care and Secondary Care.
Main duties of the job
Ensuring appropriate diagnosis, treatment and individual care plans are in place as well as providing an educative function to GPs and Practice Nurses.
Provide leadership and Managerial supervision to the team ensuring that all staff have regular supervision, annual performance appraisals and Personal Development Plans.
Provide highly specialist clinical advice and support to colleagues and health professionals on complex TB cases and NTMB in accordance with present standards/protocols/legislation and procedural guidelines.
Manage TB clinics in the community, including medication review, and where appropriate titrate medications within agreed guidelines.
Maintain professional networking relationships with all relevant professionals, agencies and organisations.
Oversee the management and delivery of highly specialist mass screening events including contact screening and agreed screening of required accommodations.
Input into agenda setting at Staff meetings and chair as required.
