Job summary
The post holder will be expected to provide clerical, administrative and information technology support to nursing and other staff in relation to the needs of patients being cared for within the Unit. The post holder will work under the direction of the Ward Manager in supporting the smooth running of the service.
Main duties of the job
Answering telephones, ensuring bed boards are up to date, to provide weekly and monthly ward activity figures, to provide a confidential and high standard general administrative support to the ward/unit, to ensure that all patient admissions, discharges and attendances are recorded accurately on the relevant electronic system in real time, liaise with trust teams to escalate issues, take minutes of meetings and distribute or act as necessary and any other ward clerking responsibilities.

The patients presentation means that persuasive, reassuring, empathic, skills are required at all times. To ensure that all paperwork pertaining to patient care including observations are accurately uploaded to the electronic patient record in a timely manner.
