Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity within our Early Intervention in Psychosis Psychological Services in the mid part of Essex to offer a maternity leave cover role as an Assistant Psychologist. The successful applicant would be working within an MDT alongside Clinical Psychologists, a Clinical Associate in Psychology and Trainee Clinical Psychologists. The post-holder would be required to support the uptake of psychological assessment and interventions for clients experiencing a first episode of psychosis and their families, alongside a range of other responsibilities depending on the experience of the applicant e.g. offering carer psychoeducation and support, facilitating our service user coproduction group and contributing to team training and service developments.

Main duties of the job
Depending on experience, the responsibilities of the job will involve assisting in completing psychological assessments, (including structured interviews and psychometrics) and communicating the outcome of these to clients, team colleagues and other professionals. There will be the opportunity for assisting in and conducting individual, carer, family and group interventions, consultation, and staff training.
The post holder will assist the psychology team in managing referrals and collecting and evaluating outcomes of interventions. We also have a well-established lived experience consultation group in which staff and users of the service work together on service development and we would be keen for the post holder to become part of this initiative. Team working ability and skills in training, consultation and supervision and a calm disposition will also be essential.
