Job summary

An exciting opportunity has now arisen due to a promotion and we are in the position to recruit a Ward Manager to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working at our Older Adult Functional Inpatient Ward based at the Mental Health Unit, Epping.

St Margaret's Hospital has free on-site parking for staff and is within easy access of the M11/M25 motorways. The hospital is within a short distance of Epping Underground Station on the Central Line, with great access links into London.

Main duties of the job

Roding Ward is a 14 bedded inpatient facility which provides care to older people, over the age of 70, suffering from a functional mental health condition where they are deemed to be such that admission to hospital is the only safe option.

We offer a service which is provided by a team that shares the workload fairly, acknowledges individual abilities and skills and recognises the individual staff member's responsibility when providing care. Staff support and supervision are integral to our service. The Ward team is multidisciplinary, consisting of Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Consultant Psychiatrist, Admin, Domestics, Psychology, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapists with close liaison with Social Services, and other related disciplines.

An understanding of the Recovery Model approach is required, taking into account the needs of families and carer's, whilst providing leadership to a team and be prepared to become part of an established multidisciplinary team.
