Job summary

The successful candidate will take on the responsibilities of the Director of Finance - Commercial as set out in the Job Description, attached. This includes leading on strategic financial planning, the strategic capital investment programme, East of England Mental Health provider collaborative, MSE Community Collaborative, service line reporting and costing. They will play a key role in supporting the Executive Chief Finance Officer alongside the Director of Finance - Operational.

Main duties of the job

  • Organisation and System Capital leadership, including capital planning and reporting, chairing the Capital Planning Group and leading the Strategic Investment Group.
  • Supporting key strategic investment initiatives including the Electronic Patient Record System and the Estates Strategy.
  • Co-ordinating the Trusts support for key system initiatives including Community Diagnostic Centres/Integrated Medical Centres and new hospital and community bed and service initiatives.
  • MTFP and LTFP plans
  • Service Line Reporting, Costing, Benchmarking and Stewardship
  • Accountability Framework (Performance), development and support
  • Finance Staff Training, Development and Accreditation

  • ECDL or equivalent level of knowledge
  • Evidence of specific post-graduate training in management and financial accounting

  • Significant NHS experience working at a senior level within a finance function, to support the required knowledge acquisition, either directly or in the capacity of an advisor.
  • Experience of managing staff
