Job summary
An existing opportunity has arisen for an aspiring leader to work as a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager at Edward House, a 20 bedded Low Secure Male Forensic Unit based within the Broomfield Hospital site. We are looking for a dedicated individual who will inspire others to provide an excellent level of care to those under our service.
Main duties of the job
The unit generally accepts service users from the prison service or Medium Secure facilities who are displaying symptoms of mental illness or require further assessment and treatment.
As a Band 6, your role will be pivotal in ensuring exemplary care and support is being provided to our patients and loved ones. We have a huge focus on quality improvement so are looking to employ an individual who is motivated to progress changes within the service.
In addition, the role includes but is not limited to the following:
To work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering 24 hr mental health access and information in the locality of the Trust. The service provided is 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for 365 days a year
To act as a role model to other Nurses and HCAs, supervising them to ensure high quality care is provided
Work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team
To deliver a high quality and effective operational service to patients with complex needs, in accordance with the principles and objective of the Trust and the vision identified in the service
To complete the required clinical audits, ensure compliance with Trust and local Polices and Procedures
To partake in the site coordinator rota on a regular basis, supporting the leadership of the whole site
