Job summary
Work as part of the trade team and participate in cross-trade working as and whenrequired. Must be willing to carry out basic duties of mixed disciplines and attendtraining courses as necessary.? Work as an individual and act on own initiative, as well as working as part of a tradeteam? Must prioritise own work load on a day to day basis and ensuring tasks are carriedout in an affective order, considering both urgency and location.? To use all workshop machinery to its fullest potential? Must keep all Trust issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in good conditionand wear when necessary.? Must be willing to work as a mobile operative and travel to all sites across the estateas and when required. Must be willing to travel to different locations if/when theestate expands.? Must have the ability to work in hazardous areas and be able to remain calm whenworking in environments, such as mental healthcare premises, that can becomehostile.? Must be willing and available to participate in the out of hour's response arrangementas required.?
Main duties of the job
Must accept responsibility for own work and strive to compete all work to a highstandards and within current regulations.? Responsible for finishing own work including filling, making good and painting.? Undertake planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, new installations andimprovements across the Trust as directed by management. This must be carried outin a safe, efficient and timely manner.? Undertake general maintenance duties across all sites including roofing, bricklaying,guttering, general plumbing and carpentry tasks, lamp changing and PortableAppliance Testing (PAT).? Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance such as emergency light testing, waterflushing, water temperature testing, filter changes and other general maintenanceregimes.? Assist skilled trade staff with a range of duties as and when required. This includestesting of fire alarm systems and standby generators.? Carry out a wide range of multi-trade tasks across the Trust.? Complete any furniture removal/relocation tasks as and when required as per manualhandling training.? Understand the importance of, and carry out, planned preventative maintenance(PPM) duties with regards to Water Quality? Be able to produce quotations for minor works with realistic estimates for both labourtime and material costs.? Carry out locksmith duties as and when required. This includes fitting, maintaining,repairing and manipulating a wide range of lock types.
