Community Support Worker - Dementia Intensive Support Team Band 3 - £20,330 - £21,777 per annum Full Time - 37.5 hours per week Location - Castle Point & Rochford / Southend

An exciting opportunity as arisen to join the Dementia Intensive Support Team as a Community Support Worker.

Main duties of the job

You will assist the qualified nursing staff in providing care and support of people with a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis of dementia and their carers within the acute Trust, mental health Trust, community settings and/or patients own home.

You will provide person centred care and working within the recovery model approach enabling patients to work towards their goals and within their care plans.

Our Health Care Support Worker Role works at a band 3 level, however we want to offer the opportunity to those that may not have the current qualifications or relevant experience the chance to start their NHS career and would welcome and encourage applications from those that do not meet the personal specification but are willing to undergo additional training required to fulfil the job role.

Due to our strong sense of commitment in our staff training and development we will automatically enrol every successful health care support worker we appoint on to an apprenticeship unless you declare otherwise at interview. Please be aware however if you do not currently hold the relevant skills and qualification to meet the essential criteria to work as a band 3 Health Care Assistant and do not wish to undertake an apprenticeship we will be unable to continue with your application.

  • Care certificate or willingness to complete

Desirable

  • NVQ qualification - level 3 or equivalent
  • Experience of working with or caring for people with dementia

  • Previous experience of working within Mental health services
  • Supporting and being supervised by registered nurses
