Job summary

We have a new opportunity within the Uttlesford Integrated community care team for an Occupational therapy lead. The role will work across the Uttlesford locality supporting the occupational therapists and therapy assistants. The role will work closely with the Physiotherapy lead to support the wider therapy team and across the integrated neighbourhood team.

This is an opportunity to assist in shaping the Occupational therapy service going forward and aid in promoting the service and profession.

Main duties of the job

  • Occupational Therapy clinical leadership is being strengthened within the Uttlesford Neighbourhood team and we are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative practitioner who will lead to inspire and develop excellent Occupational Therapy Practice in the locality and to support across the West Essex care unit.
  • The post holder will work closely with clinicians from the community neighbourhood teams and work collaboratively on leadership activities and promoting the delivery of safe care. Community experience is essential.
  • The community team of West Essex is part of the wider Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System supporting Out of Hospital Care to support West Essex Residents. The post holder will be working as part of the Primary Care Aligned Team (PACT) supporting 2 Uttlesford Primary Care Networks with a focus on prevention of admissions, supporting safe discharge as well as provision for rehabilitation for the West Essex population.
  • Flexible working is required, as at times you will be expected to work across sites in our other West Essex localities depending on service needs.

The post holder will work autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver excellent standards of patient care for patients requiring support in planned care.

Clinical responsibilities

Demonstrate the ability to:

  • Actively participate in identifying training needs of self and others and participate on appropriate training programmes.
  • Actively participate in the monitoring, supervision and education of others including students and apprentices.
  • Positively enhance new integrated ways of working developing a culture of trust and supportive team working.
