Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Trust Board, the Chief People Officer (CPO) will lead and oversee all aspects of the Trust's emerging People and Culture strategy and will share corporate responsibility for the development and delivery of other corporate strategies and plans. A key focus for the role is the wellbeing and development of our staff and the delivery of a positive culture across EPUT underpinned by our values.
The CPO will lead the People and Culture department, ensuring that it provides outstanding services to our clinical and non-clinical colleagues. The CPO will be responsible for workforce development redesign and transformation, as well as operational HR services, and will have responsibility for professional leadership and practice in relation to the Board's responsibilities as an employer. In addition, the post holder will lead the Marketing and Brand function of the Trust.
The post holder will work collaboratively with national bodies such as NHS England, and localbodies such as the 3 local Integrated Care Boards which cover the areas in which the Trust provides services to ensure that patients receive the best possible care within the available resources.The post holder will be accountable to the Chief Executive for all services designated in the assigned portfolio as listed above. These may be amended by the Chief Executive over time, in discussion with the post holder.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.
