Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term contract for 6 months to cover a secondment( with option to extend) a .088 WTE /34 hours a week enthusiastic,motivated and innovative band 6 Podiatrist to join our progressive and developing team. The post involves working across the trust area from Southend in the East to Grays and Brentwood in the West.

We would welcome applications from Podiatrists with clinical experience at band 5 for at least 1 year post grad ( if working within the NHS having passed their probationary period).

Your clinical work would be at a variety of clinics and include domicillary visits so a car driver /owner is essential to this role with flexibility a requirement to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will undertake NP assessments, Diabetes care, wound care, Nail Surgery and Musculoskeletal Podiatry delivering the service to patients with a range of clinical needs.

The post would provide opportunity to develop skills in all of these areas once induction period completed. Some of these would be on a rotational basis.

We value our staff and support with an induction programme, appraisal, supervision and CPD with all staff having a designated mentor, encouraging enhancement of clinical and professional skills as part of their personal development plan.

Our Podiatrists are actively involved in a clinical educator

programme with the University of East London, so supervision of students is required.

We have close links with hospital MDT teams and we are part of the National Diabetes Audit.
