"EPUT has supported several individuals over many years to complete their Podiatric Surgery training and gain their Certificate of Completion from the Royal College of Podiatry.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within EPUT Essex Podiatric Surgery team and we are seeking an enthusiastic Podiatrist with at least 3 years' post registration experience, who is interested in working towards their Podiatric Surgery qualification.
Main duties of the job
The role will require the person to provide highly specialised Podiatric Surgical assistance to the Consultant Podiatric Surgeons within Essex Community Podiatric Surgery Services, based on and utilising additional competencies and knowledge gained through postgraduate development and on the job training. They will work as an integral member of the podiatric surgical team, and will exercise judgement in using the most appropriate skills and techniques to improve and maintain the quality of life for patients with foot problems, which can be addressed surgically.
In addition, the post holder may act as appoint of contact for the surgical service with members of the public and other healthcare professionals, being comfortable and confident in their dealings with all hospital staff.
To act within specific service protocols for provision of Podiatric Surgery, including compliance with clinical governance, scope of practice. The post will include assessment and diagnosis of patients, the planned and directed implementation of treatment programmes, and the provision of foot health education, and advice both pre- and postoperatively to patients, as well as advice to relatives and other health professionals."
The successful applicant will be expected to work across South and West Essex depending on the need of the service.
