Job summary

Here at EPUT, we are launching an exciting new band 5 rotation in the area of Community Health Services in South East Essex. If you are a newly qualified OT, or an OT who is keen to rotate through new and evolving Community Services, this could be the job for you. Community Health Services are changing and developing at a rapid rate, with the focus on admission avoidance, and smooth and effective transition from Acute Hospital to home.

The post holder will be expected to play an active role as a member of the Community Services and participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy.

The post holder will be proactive in addressing their own continuing development needs.

This post will be based within the Community Health Services, with the opportunity to rotate between the individual services.

Main duties of the job

Here in the community, we have time to spend with patients to achieve their goals and meet their needs in a holistic way. You will be part of an MDT working within people's homes, with patients that have a variety of physical health conditions, including palliative care, complex neurology, long-term conditions, stroke, orthopaedic and frailty.

Education / Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration or registration pending

Desirable

  • Evidence of Continual professional development (CPD)
  • Relevant mentorship / supervision qualifications / experience

Skills / Experience

Essential

  • Basic awareness of current legislation, government initiatives & current practice affecting OT
  • Clinical experience (incl. Student Placements) of area relating to speciality / post
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise / facilitate own and others daily work activities
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
  • Literate in IT / Computer Skills
  • Excellent oral / written communication skills based on fluency of the English Language
