East London Foundation Trust are pleased to offer the opportunity for a Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (with CBTp specialism) to join us in the City and Hackney community mental health service. This post is a fixed term 8 month contract and working 18.75 hours per week.
The psychological therapies service is embedded within various community mental health multidisciplinary teams, which are intended to offer a place-based service responsive to local population needs. We mainly work with people who have a diagnosis of psychosis /BPAD and/or are under care coordination due to the level of their current needs.
Main duties of the job
The role involves both direct and indirect working. The direct work with service users includes consultation, assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions. The post involves working with service users with a wide range of mental health difficulties, mostly people with a diagnosis of psychosis or bipolar affective disorder, and/or are under care coordination due to the level of their current needs. There is an ongoing group treatment programme across the borough and the post holder will be encouraged to contribute to this according to their interests.
Indirect work will include consultation, formulation, supervision and training with the multidisciplinary teams, and also with other services involved in the service user's care as envisaged by the neighbourhood model.
