Our ELFT pharmacy team provides pharmacy services to a wide range of community and inpatient service users in Luton and Bedforshire, City and Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets. This includes children and young people to adults of working age, older adults, and forensic patients. We provide a broad range of clinical pharmacy services to our inpatient wards and are supported by trained medicines management technicians. This is an onsite role.

You will lead on the provision of pharmacy services in Tower Hamlets. You will also provide support to the medicines management technicians and pharmacists, provide operational support where required, provide a clinical pharmacy service to inpatient wards and work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective service to mental health patients in our directorate. You will have a particular role in implementing and monitoring the clinical pharmacy standards and working closely with the Pharmacy Services Manager to identify service gaps. You will be responsible for areas of service and line management of pharmacists and technicians. You will also be involved in working with the other lead pharmacists in undertaking and developing audits and projects to evaluate and improve services alongside pharmacy and trust priorities and objectives.

The postholder must be able to show compassion and respect for people with mental health problems and be driven to improve their care through medicines management.

  • Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy (4 years or equivalent)
  • + pre -registration training
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council and/or Royal Pharmaceutical Society

Desirable

  • Working towards higher Degree/Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy
  • Experience in clinical pharmacy in a mental health setting
