Clinical Lead - Mental Health Nurse

Job summary

To provide professional and clinical nursing leadership across the crisis pathway.

To develop and deliver specialist training,educationand development opportunities for staff and, as agreed, external stakeholders.

To lead within the service on promoting clinical innovation and delivering continual development of nursing practice based upon evidence and relevant research.

To ensure excellence in nursing practice and that service delivery is based on NICE guidelines and other relevant documents and guidance.

To support clinical leadership of the crisis service.

To support training within the pathway/service.

To undertakeclinical on call duties within an agreed roster period (Approx 2 -3 per month).

To support andadviseteam lead in developing supervision for CAMHS nurses in the designated area.

To act as a point of contact and nursing resource on all nursing issues relating to the designated area.

To lead onmaintainingexisting and on-going development of pathwayfor the acute general hospital and relevant interfacing departments

To provide and deliver specialist nursing advice, careplanningandinterventions foryoung people with complex needsand their families and to work closely with theTeamLeadin order todeliver a person-centred service.

To provide expert nursing adviceand care to service users,carersand staff.

Main duties of the job

Working with Team Lead, and other Lead Clinicians to ensure the highest quality of nursing care is delivered within the pathway and that this is measurable.

To be actively part of the on call roster (approximately 2-3 x per month).

To lead in developing specialist nursing protocols for the service, and where agreed, other protocols including those which mayimpactacross other professions/Care Groups.

Toparticipatein and contribute to Trust strategies and working groups in relation to nursing practice.

To work with the Team Lead on the recruitment and appointment of nursing staff.

To lead on the provision of professional advice and support to Team Lead on issues of nursing performance and capability.

To be the nursing lead inidentifying, developing, implementing,and undertakingresearch/development activity within the pathway.

To take a lead role in ensuring,maintainingand monitoring excellent standards of clinical Supervision and revalidation within the pathway

Ensure that all Nursing care and Nurse Development is informed and shaped by the NMC code of Practice.

To support the development of the benefits and opportunities of multi-disciplinary working andidentifysolutions to problems which utilise the full skillset of the MDT.

Deputising for the TeamManagerwhererequired.

Ensure excellent communication and joined up clinical care pathways in CAMHS and key external stakeholders.
