We areseekingan enthusiastic and creativeCAMHSNursePractitionertowork within our ADHD pathway in Tower Hamlets CAMHS.Tower Hamlets is a socially and ethnically diverse borough in East London. Our ADHD referrals have increasedrapidlyand we areexpanding our team, as well as recruiting for vacant posts.

Tower Hamlets Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is based in Whitechapel, East London. The service embraces continual improvement andthe wellbeingof staff and has a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement and working together with partner agencies to provide the highest quality service to the population we serve.

The ADHD pathway is a small, committed team currentlycomprisingof a Consultant Psychiatrist, Band 8a Nurse Prescriber (0.4wte), Speciality Doctor (0.4wte)and Physician Assistant (1wte). We are an innovative and supportive team who place quality improvement and people participation at the core of our outcomes focussed delivery of assessment and treatment.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be expected to:

  • To offer assessment and flexible, evidence-based and outcome focused episodes of care and interventions to children/young people and familieswithin the ADHD pathway.

  • Conduct initial specialist ADHD triage assessments and liaise with our triage team,assistour service users in moving smoothly through the referral,treatmentand discharge processes within the Tower Hamlets CAMHS service and to and from other services in their designated Borough. They will play a pivotal role in ensuring that families experience ease ofentry toand a seamless transition between services, and that they feel supported to access the right service at the right time even when their needs are complex and may involve input from multiple teams.

  • Contribute to Quality Improvement and Service Development Initiative within the pathway

  • Delivergroup workshopstochildren, young people and families and contribute to their improvement and development.

  • To havea high degree of professional autonomy and self-management andwill berequiredto account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit.

Onceestablishedin post, opportunities for further training in line with serviceneed, such as nurse prescriber training can be discussed with the post holder
