Job summary
We are looking for a children's nurse to work within our children's community nursing team as part of the Asthma service. We deliver (in person) community based care to children with Asthma.
Our team works across London Borough of Newham, supporting children 2 years and above.
We are based within East London, and work as part of an Multidisciplinary team, including play, psychology, dietetics, as part of our community nursing service. We support professional development (including clinical skills within the role) and staff well being.
Main duties of the job
To have an interest in Asthma management and work across community children's nursingservice, including the asthma service and Community children's nursing team (CCNT).
To support in the day to day management of the Children's Asthma Service, ensuring theindividual needs of children/young people and their families are met.
To manage a clinical caseload ensuring continued responsibility for the assessment,planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care.
To develop expert knowledge and skills to provide clinical care, advice and support to childrenand young people.
To work in partnership with other community/ acute based teams, clients and services in thepublic, private, educational and voluntary sectors.
To have a strong focus on health outcomes and reducing health inequalities forchildren/young people with asthma by working closely with colleagues to target hard to reachgroups.
To be able to provide line management for junior members of the team associate to caseload,
including clinical supervision and appraisals.
To demonstrate areas of specialty thereby acting as a resource for other professionals andenhancing evidence based practice for delivery of community based nursing care for childrenand young people with asthma and allergies.
