Job summary

Would you like to be part of an exciting development within our Dunstable community, in a new modern integrated health and social care hub?

You will work closely with various other services such as GP Practices, the local authority adult social care, substance misuse and children's services to name but a few.

This team is part of the Mental Health Transformation of services and the blended team where our voluntary service colleagues are fully embedded within the team.

The team is also made up of a rich resource of multidisciplinary professionals who support psychological ways of working. The team includes Registered Nurses, Social Workers. Doctors, Psychologists, Assistant Psychologist, Occupational Therapists, Support Recovery Workers, Peer Support Worker, Psychotherapists, Administrators and an Employment specialist as well as working closely within a designated locality with Primary care mental health link workers, the Local Authorities and voluntary services.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for an identified community caseload, ensuring high standard of professionalconduct to comply with best practice and professional accountability.To promote a service user focused service.

Participate in audits and survey relevant to the team.

To participate in development of new policies and procedures as required.

Ensure that clients receive a culturally competent service.

To co-ordinate the day-to-day activity and manage the workload of the Team.

To ensure the legal requirements of the Mental Health Act (1983) and subsequent amendmentsare adhered to.

To establish and maintain good relationships with service users, carers and voluntary sectorcolleagues.

Mental health experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within Mental Health.
  • Significant post-qualification experience, which must be within mental health services
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary environment/community experience
  • Experience of working within an NHS/Local Authority environment and an understanding of the issues/ policies/ practice within these environments.

Desirable

  • Previous appointment as an ASW/AMHP/Men tal Health Officer

  • Car Driver - Full driving licence
  • Able to travel between Trust sites throughout the County
  • Flexible working according to the needs of the service and to support work/life balance and improving working lives. Ability to work shifts and weekends when required.

Education and Qualification

  • RNMH / RMN registered by the NMC OR Qualified Social Worker registered by the HCPC
  • Evidence of continued professional development
