Job responsibilities

• To manage a caseload of 35-70 service users, depending on complexity and other responsibilities
• To carry out drug and alcohol misuse assessment including assessment of personal strengths and recovery capital, and risks.
• To develop recovery plans using a person centred approach to develop, implement and evaluate needs and strengths based care plans and risk management plans in partnership with service users, carers and other professionals.
• To offer health promotion and deliver harm reduction interventions, including needle exchange and access to physical health care including BBV and health screening
• To provide IBA, extended IBA, one-to-one and group interventions

Person Specification

Education/ Qualification/ Training

Essential

• English and Maths at minimum GCSE or higher (or equivalent).
• Qualification in using Microsoft Office Applications (or demonstrable skill)
• NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent demonstrable skill)

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working in Health or Social Care
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience of providing evidence based interventions
• Experience of Recovery Focused interventions.
• Experience of care planning and risk assessment
• Experience of using Information and Communication Technology to deliver clinical practice.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• Understanding and commitment to the values and principles of Recovery and ability to apply them in day to day work
• Ability to empower service users to draw from their strengths and assets, and identify solutions
• Skills in assessing needs and setting goals
• Skills in planning, implementing and evaluating care
• Ability to manage a caseload.
• Effective communication skills, verbal and written
