Job summary
Assist with the provision of a high-quality pharmacy service to patients of the Trust.
Work closely with all pharmacy staff and maintain a close working relationship with other members of the multidisciplinary team; this includes Nursing staff, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Junior Doctors and Ward Clerks.
Lead the team and manage workload to meet department deadlines and targets
Maintain the ACPT qualification via allocated slots at the Dispensary in Mile End Hospital.
Line manage, train and support ATO's.
Work in a number of different environments including mental health in-patient wards, PICU, Home Treatment Teams and the trust pharmacy dispensary.
Ensure all documentation regarding medicines management is completed and accurate.
Undertake ward based activities, coordinating and maintaining medication supply to designated ward(s), as required.

- BTEC/City and Guilds in Pharmacy, NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services
- Registered Pharmacy Technician, or eligible to become registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Regional checking technician accreditation/ACPT qualified
- AIMMS Accredited ( or working towards) ward technician
Desirable
- NVQ Assessor or Educational Supervisor
Knowledge and skills
Essential
- Ability to lead a team and motivate others
- Ability to plan, assess and monitor workload to meet deadlines
- Understanding of pharmacy supply processes and how these impact the patient journey
- Knowledge and proven experience of good stock control
- Awareness of the issues around quality and customer care
- Knowledge of a range of drug therapies
- Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of staff (both Pharmacy and other healthcare professionals) and patients
