Job summary

The post holder will work within an exciting pilot service - "Aspire", which is an Intensive Day and Virtual Service, within the CAMHS Eating Disorder Pathway as part of a targeted team of mental health professionals in delivering an effective service. The service is part of a regional pilot, which has been funded by the East of England NHS Provider Collaborative. The service will take on up to 4 young people at anytime. There may also be some capacity to support the core Community Eating Disorder Service.

The principal role is in partnership with young people with an eating disorder, their families and carers, to assess, plan and offer intensive, evidence-based episodes of care and treatments to all eating disorder presentations and co-morbidities.

The special focus of this work being around Tier 4 inpatient admission avoidance, and stepping down from the inpatient setting to reduce length of stay.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide evidence-based episodes of care, assessments (including risk management) and treatments to all eating disorders presentations and co-morbidities.

To provide care to children and families affected by eating disorders, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

To provide effective leadership, expertise, advice and support to the service and ensure the provision of high quality care to children and families

To act as a role model and highly competent practitioner

To act as a designated resource to children and families, and other professionals caring for them

To facilitate the development of the eating disorders service, as part of a multidisciplinary team

To promote an innovative and progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence based practice
