Job summary
The post holder will be committed to upholding the highest professional standards in their work at all times, the NMC professional code of practice and Trust policies. The post holder will be experienced at working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Working closely with the medical monitoring team, GP with special interest in eating disorders, and team psychiatrist, the post holder will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in line with The Royal College of Psychiatrists Emergencies in Eating Disorders (MEED) guidelines and will have the support of medical staff to learn and develop in this post.
Main duties of the job
1. Conduct medical monitoring clinics to monitor the physical health of service users referredto and being supported by the service.2. Undertake monitoring and review of physical and mental health needs and risks, and ensuresafe management and referral of people presenting with escalating risks.3. Deliver physical and mental health interventions to support the recovery and care of peopleusing the services.4. Support the safe engagement of service users with intensive treatment.5. Promote awareness, understanding and the safe and effective support of the needs ofpeople with disordered eating.6. Oversee running of medical monitoring clinics ensuring that clinic are appropriately stockedwith equipment and maintaining Trust IPC standards.7. Providing supervision to other medical monitoring nursing team and clinical support staff.8. Ensuring clinical records are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
