Occupational Therapist Community or Inpatient
This is a 12 month fixed term or secondment opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to work in Bow and Poplar Neighborhood Mental health team (NMHT). The NMHT is a vibrant community team offering integrated mental health and social care to residents in Tower Hamlets.If you are interested in joining a dynamic and supportive clinical and management team, are action oriented and excited to use your Occupational therapy skills to make a difference in peoples lives, this is for you!
There is a second Band 6 post available in the Tower Hamlets Centre for Mental Health Inpatient Occupational Therapy Team, this post will include a Community component and we will be interviewing with both posts in mind.

Main duties of the job
Occupational therapy assessment and intervention.
Act as the named Health Care Professional for people where occupational function is the main area of difficulty.
Brief treatment and assessment (ABT) including adult assessments (care acts) and safeguarding enquiries.
Supervison of the OT Technician,employment specialists and community connectors at the NMHT.

- oWorking knowledge of Clinical Governance and its application
- oKnowledge of RCOT standards of practice and their application

- oSpecialist clinical skills to carry out OT and mentl health interventions: therapeutic and activity-based interventions; remedial training and cognitive behavioural interventions and psychosocial and psycho-educational interventions
- oSpecialist Health Promotion and rehabilitation skills in order to promote social inclusion and prevent relapse and hospitalisation
- oTo have developed interpersonal skills enabling therapeutic alliances to be developed and maintained with clients who have complex needs
- oAbility to evaluate the effectiveness of OT interventions including knowledge of outcome measures
