Job summary

This Bank Peer Tutor role will focus on coproducing and codelivering courses as an Expert by Experience, this includes planning and delivering courses alongside a co tutor

Main duties of the job

  • Coproducing and codelivering courses as an Expert by Experience
  • Co-design, co-produce and co-facilitate courses at the recovery college following the recovery college ethos
  • Ensure courses are fully co-produced and in keeping with the CHIME model
  • Complete appropriate lesson plans and documentation for courses being run

Job responsibilities

The Peer Tutor will be involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of a range of recovery based educational courses for anyone living across City & Hackney. The role will also involve working with the Recovery College team in developing new courses to support the development of the recovery college syllabus and in keeping with local public health information.

The role will include meetings, planning sessions, teaching sessions, event support and college promotion in the local community.

This role requires the applicant to have attended and completed the co-production training course

Essential

  • Train the Trainer or equivalent ILP training
  • Lived mental health experience
  • Experience of delivering ILPs
  • Experience of teaching and training
  • Experience of co-production of Recovery College Courses
  • Experience of working with people with mental health problems, their carers and staff

Desirable

  • Qualification or relevant experience in teaching
  • Experience of working in a multiracial inner city area

  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of recovery and recovery orientated practice
