Job summary

The dressing clinic service operates 5 days a week between 08.30-16.30

The post holder will work closely with the Central team team leader and Clinical led

Passionate about delivering high quality nursing care in a dressing clinic setting

Evidence of continual professional development

Open , friendly with good interpersonal skills

Must have understanding good collaborative working

Main duties of the job

To be able assess plan and implement care plan of individual patient

To manage 'complex' wound care in the dressing clinic the recovery and healing

Ability to work under own initiative

Ensure safeguarding needs are met and escalated at the right time

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for initial assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment / care plans for a wide range of complex wounds both in person or telephone.

Working autonomously to improve patient safety & experience, promoting good practice and promote skin integrity.

The post holder will have extensive knowledge of wound assessment, be able to identify signs of infection and use evidence based knowledge to promote wound healing.

The post holder to promote self-care using and up-to-date evidenced practice. Health education is essential element of this role empowering self-care.

Be clinically inquisitive.

The post holder will actively lead the prevention of avoidable deterioration of wounds and use expert knowledge and skills to manage complex wound care aiding the recovery and healing.
