Job responsibilities

The Senior Deskside Specialist is a key part of the Deskside team. The post will act as alead within the team for deskside and technical device management or support withinBedfordshire. The post holder provides design, support or advice to the DesksideManager and the Deskside team. The post holder is expected to be the knowledgerepository or go-to-person for Deskside support, maintenance, installations, moves andtesting.The Senior Deskside Specialist is responsible for the supervision and coordination of thesecond line Deskside Team, leading the team in their duties. This includes the day to daymanagement of specialist technical staff, 1:1s, PDPs and disciplinary matters as delegatedby the Deskside Manager. The post holder is key to the management of technical services,ensuring that staff across the organisation are fully supported in their day to day use ofdigital.The post holder is a source of knowledge and advice for project teams. This includesproviding expertise on licensing, systems integration, ongoing support, resource projectionsor costs, timelines and advising on business case development.The post holder will take a lead role in specialist projects such as equipment moves thatimpact across clinical and non-clinical areas, this includes downtime to be agreed withmultiple stakeholders.The Senior Deskside Specialist will support the programme teams in the planning of projects and liaise or work alongside hardware vendors or resellers, internal stakeholders and other technical experts to do so.

Essential

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience
  • Digital Service management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development

  • Ability to provide specialist knowledge and advice within department and other organisations regarding technical environment.
