Job summary

Bedfordshire Talking Therapies provides a range of therapy for residents of Bedfordshire, including Low Intensity, High Intensity CBT and Relational Therapies.

This Apprentice PWP post is a training role where the post-holder will work within the service providing low intensity interventions at Step 2, whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. The training post will equip the post-holder to provide a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to patients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. The post-holder will attend all taught and self-study days required by the education provider (2 days per week), as specified within National Low Intensity curriculum, and work in the service for the remaining 3 days of the week, using their newly-developed skills

The duration of the PWP Apprenticeship course is 15 months and will be provided by the University of East Anglia. The apprenticeship starts on Monday 9th September 2024.

It is a requirement for the apprenticeship that you have GSCE or equivalent in Maths and English. Please can you ensure you have your certificates and have these available to show at your interview.

The interview process for this position will involve a half day Assessment Centre which will be held face to face in Bedfordshire (location to be confirmed). If successful following the first stage, there will be an online panel interview.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will engage with the Apprenticeship training which includes clinical assessments and academic work, therefore the ability to study and engage in university is essential.

Apprentice PWPs work with service users who are struggling with depression and anxiety disorders and will juggle multiple responsibilities and tasks. An ability to empathise is essential, as well as organisational skills.

Being IT literate is needed for this role due to working on a patient database and liaising with other professionals by making online referrals.
