To lead on the therapeutic engagement and community re-integration/school reintegration for all young people at The Coborn Centre for Adolescent Mental health under the supervision of the qualified OTs.
-To implement all aspects of Occupational Therapy intervention and goal planning for all young people at the Coborn Centre under the supervision and guidance of a qualified OT

Main duties of the job
- To prepare and implement programmes of therapeutic activities for Young People with chronic and severe mental health needs as well as highly complex mental health difficulties in the Day Service, PICU and the Acute Service of The Coborn Service (during evenings and weekends if and when needed from the Service). These programmes are based on professional guidelines received from qualified therapy staff.
- To plan and provide programmes of therapeutic activities tailored to the young people's needs within the framework laid down by the Occupational Therapist with minimal support and/or supervision
- Plan and provide therapeutic programmes of activities within the established OT framework, facilitate group therapy sessions and provide individual support
- To actively involve and support clients as required in their care plan.
- To observe and report back about any suggested changes in the therapeutic activities and encourage the clients in developing a sense of their own identity, personal needs and social interactions during their recovery and rehabilitation programme.
- To deeply respect the individual's religious beliefs and cultural practices.
- To observe and report any changes to the client's health and environment to qualified staff and appropriate agencies (internal and/or external)
About us
The Coborn centre for Adolescent Mental health is an Inpatient mental health service for young people age 13-18 with highly complex mental health needs. The OT Team within the Coborn Service is a highly respected team that comprises of 1 full time Head OT (8b), 1 part time Lead OT (Band 8a), 1 full time Band 7 OT, 1 full time Band 6 OT, our part time Sports Therapist and Sports Instructor as well as 4 OTAs. It is a team that is welcoming, caring, supportive and very passionate about what OT can offer in inpatient services for young people with complexities in their presentations. We have a well established OT pathway and we always put the young people and their families at the centre.

- Good numerical skills
