Job summary
Applications are invited for a Band 7 Diabetes Specialist Nurse (Mental Health), to cover Mental Health units at Newham University Hospital and Eastham Care Centre. The post is 0.8 WTE, successful applicant will cover mental health diabetes clinic for two days and adult Diabetes clinic within Newham. The post holder will also cover Tower Hamlet and Hackney Mental Health Services when necessary.
Main duties of the job
Newham Community Diabetes Service is based at Shrewsbury Road Health Centre. You will be working within an enthusiastic team of Community diabetes nurse specialists and other health care professionals, providing clinical / education support for patients with diabetes and their carers.
The successful applicant must have undertaken a recognised programme of diabetes training and have demonstrable experience of working as a diabetes specialist nurse with proven clinical skills. You must be self-motivating, organised, computer literate and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to continued personal development. This role would offer opportunities to expand your diabetes nursing skills in a mental health setting as well as consolidating your existing knowledge.

- oRelevant post graduate diabetes qualifications e.g. ENB 998
