Job responsibilities

We are seeking an individual, who is an excellent team worker who can suport the Team Leader and work alongside other professional colleagues such as district nurses and occupational therapists.

Person Specification

Education/ Qualification/ Training

Essential

• Physiotherapy degree or equivalent
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council/The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
• Maintenance of continuing professional development portfolio

Experience

Essential

• oMinimum of 18 months' clinical, post-registration physiotherapy practice, which should include working with a range of clients who require physiotherapy in a therapeutic setting in the community
• oExperience in training others
• oExperience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• Knowledge of theory and practice of physiotherapy with clients with physical, cognitive and psycho-social needs
• Knowledge of legislation affecting our work as physiotherapists
• Evidence of sound knowledge of the roles of other disciplines and agencies involved
• An awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of a multicultural client group
• Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance and its application
• Knowledge of safe manual handling

Skills

Essential

• Ability to work and communicate with a wide range of professionals as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with a client and his/her family/carers, motivating them to participate in the therapeutic process
• Ability to undertake all aspects of the physiotherapy process
• Ability to develop and apply specialist skills in relation to physiotherapy with clients with a wide range of disabilities
• Ability to apply specialist knowledge and skills in advising others on the care and treatment of clients with physical conditions
• Ability to demonstrate empathy with clients and their family/carers ensuring that effective communication is achieved
• 7.Ability to impart complex information to clients and their families/carers regarding their medical condition and the physiotherapy assessment and interventions
