These full-time training posts are available for 2 Recruit to Train CAMHS practitioners. One post is based in the Adolescent Mental Health Team in South Bedfordshire, 1 post is based in the Emotional & Behavioral Team in Luton Specialist CAMHS.
Main duties of the job
Our service has an exciting opportunity to join one of our central CAMHS teams as a Recruit to Train Trainee, part of the National Health Service England (NHSE) funded Recruit to Train Programme in partnership with the Anna Freud Centre, University College London, and Kings College London. The post-holders will be training on the Children & Young People Mental Health (CYP-MH) IPT-A Course and carrying out clinical work in our service to complement their studies and use their newly developed skills. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic mental health practitioners to work and train within our service. The training post will equip the post-holder to provide IPT-A interventions for children, young people or families using evidence-based intervention consistent with the course they are attending. The post holders will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages and developmental needs, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equity, diversity and inclusion.

CAMH Access Services provide a first step level of early intervention (mild to moderate) mental health care through GP practices, schools, provisions and Early Help services.

- Qualifications that demonstrate a capacity to complete academic work at postgraduate diploma level.
- Registered/accredited Professional Qualification in a MH profession is a prerequisite for future registration with IPTUK.
Experience

- Ideally at least two years experience of working with children / young people in a mental health setting.
- Experience of working with safeguarding issues.
- Experience of multi-agency working and liaising across internal & external agencies
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with children, young people, and their families.
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with children, young people, and their families.
- Ability to maintain a reflective stance in emotive/challenging interactions with children and their families.
- Ability to use supervision to reflect on practice. Capacity to work effectively and reflectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
